For this week’s Sunday series, I’m doing a special Warped edition. I’m going to share four bands I discovered at Warped Tour. Spoiler alert: only one of them was actually playing when I discovered them. The four artists are: Stevie Frank, Pickwick Commons, Spar Afar, and Separations.
I’d like to preface this article, by saying that even though I’m vaguely related to one of the members of this band, he wouldn’t recognize me on the street, and I’m in no way trying to appear cooler than I am. Because, I’m not cool, at all. XOXO.
Today is the day of my local Warped show! I’m so excited. I’m taking my dad, which is going to be hilarious, but also great. Now, a few weeks ago, I told you my dad wanted to go to Warped with me to see Alestorm. That is not the only reason he wants to go. My second cousin is playing, and he has never watched his band play. I told you guys I would write about his band today, even though they are way over my follower limit for this series. Beware, this will be the most anecdotal post to date.
Without further ado, let’s talk about I Prevail.
Part 5 of the “A Little Warped” series is here!
My local show is next week, and I’m getting very, very excited for it. Are you guys excited to read about my cousin’s band? It’s coming soon.
First, this week’s featured bands are Jule Vera, and Microwave.
It’s Wednesday! Which means time for a new band feature. Yay!
First: a story. I keep a planner with my articles planned out for the next several months. The only bands I write down after I’ve already posted, are the bands in my Sunday series, Bands I Discovered This Week. Now, imagine my surprise when I went to write down Alone I Walk, only to see that this week’s scheduled featured was another Canadian band. I guess, Canadians are alright.
Now, read on for this week’s featured band, Across The Wasteland.
Hello! You guys are in for a special treat today. The idea behind my Monday series is not a new one, but this is the first time I’ve been able to utilize it. On applicable Mondays, I’ll be writing about shows that I saw live in the past week.
Naturally, I’ve started with a real doozy. This past weekend I was lucky enough to participate in the Folk In The Woods festival in Jeddo, Michigan. Folk In The Woods takes place on an herb farm and is hosted by Connie and Sean, as always, they were amazing.
I couldn’t possibly feature every performer from the weekend. However, there are several bands that I am featuring, so read on below the cut! Continue reading “Folk In The Woods”
It’s new music Sunday! Don’t forget to leave some recommendations in the comments.
This week’s featured band is Alone I Walk. Continue reading “Alone I Walk”
Part 4 of the “A Little Warped” series is the first part that I hadn’t previously listened to any of the bands. Nonetheless, I’m still very excited to share them with you.
This week’s featured bands are Farewell Winters, and Feeki.
Today’s featured band is another hailing from the mitten state. Michigan has a plethora of bands to chose from, and deciding whom to feature this week was a tough decision .
Ultimately, pop-punk influenced alternative rock, won out again.
Everybody, meet Narco Debut.
OK, I know it’s Tuesday. I didn’t get to write this post earlier, because I had to work surprise!doubles two days in a row, when nobody showed up to replace me. Yayyyyyy!
Luckily, I did have time to discover some new music before my work life got hectic.
Last week’s new discoveries are Rival Island and Awaken I Am. Continue reading “New Music Sunday”
